The Green Canyon for Older Travellers: an Honest Suitability Check
Quick answer
Possibly the coast's most senior-friendly excursion — with two honest caveats worth knowing before booking.
Most excursions on this coast quietly assume young knees. The Green Canyon is the notable exception: a day spent seated on flat, sheltered water, with shade, a proper lunch on the classic tour, and scenery that asks nothing of you but attention. Two practical caveats deserve honest mention before you book.
Why it works so well
No swell means no seasickness and no lurching deck. The pace is a walking pace; the programme is sitting, looking, eating and — optionally — swimming. Hotel pickup is door-to-door, and the 2.5-hour catamaran offers a shorter format if a full day afloat sounds like too much. Swimming is entirely optional; many older guests happily skip it.
The two honest caveats
First, boarding: getting on and off the boat means jetty steps and a gangway — manageable with crew help for most, but genuinely difficult with a wheelchair or severely limited mobility; ask us via the contact form before booking rather than after. Second, the transfer: from Side or Manavgat it is short, but from Alanya, Belek or Antalya the coach adds real hours — check your resort's page and judge the day honestly.
